Josh Mason to Implement DVS Development System in Metro Detroit

As one of the first and most successful pitchers to train under DVS Baseball, Josh Mason has been hired to implement and manage the DVS Development System in Metro Detroit. Josh will oversee and manage the DVS Development Center within 2SP Sports in Madison Heights, Mich.

Mason, born in Chesapeake Va., eventually rose to the 2018 USPBL Pitcher of the Year after compiling a 9-2 record, 2.90 earned run average, and just 21 walks in 101 innings pitched. He was originally a two-way player out of Bishop Sullivan High School in Virginia Beach and was twice named First Team All-State and First Team All-Tidewater. During his collegiate career, Mason played for both William & Mary University and Temple University.

“Josh’s ability to communicate and demonstrate the the entire spectrum of the DVS System as both a teacher and pitcher make allows him to be instrumental in our ongoing development to combat youth pitching injuries and provide a platform of long term success to our clients. We are excited to have Josh a part of our team,” says DVS Founder Justin Orenduff.

Mason holds the distinguished honor of having the highest DVS Score (22) to be given to a pitcher evaluated under the DVS Development System.

DVS Baseball

DVS Baseball, which stands for Delivery Value System, was created in light of the current epidemic of throwing-related injuries in the game of baseball.  The surgery rate among pitchers has continued to rise over the past decade due to various culture-related factors, including an increased emphasis on throwing velocity, college scholarships, and year-round playing.  In an effort to find answers as to why some pitchers get hurt and others do not, we began a formal study that analyzed mechanical patterns from past and current MLB Pitchers. Our research, now published in Orthopedics Medical Journal, continues to evolve to help MLB Organizations understand a pitcher’s true value. Additionally, we implement the DVS Baseball pitching development program for pitchers to extend their longevity, decrease injury risk, and maximize performance in games. .
